Why is Windows Protecting my PC?

Windows uses Code Signing Certificates to establish trust between a software developer and the end user. When you run a new executable, Windows checks its signature against a set of trusted publishers provided by a third party. Getting yourself into the list of trusted publishers is expensive. Because of this we have a self signed certificate. It’s free and keeps antivirus programs from whining about our software. Because our certificate is self signed and not in any certificate authority’s special list Windows does not trust it and will show you the above dialog when you run our installers. To continue with installation, click ‘More info’ then ‘Run anyway’ to install our software.
